Previously, I had mentioned that there were 4 big scary things about this whole project. Actually, there are five. The one I didn’t mention then was the fire place. That thing’s gonna get quite hot 🙂
Today, though, it was finally time to cross of one of those scary things as done: the power system! Yep, I got resolved the questions about the spinning threaded studs (no problem) and found out there was an interlock preventing the power center from coming on that I didn’t realize was a thing. So… after a few back-and-forths with tech support to get everything worked out and set up, it was time to turn the thing on!
First things first – make sure safety equipment is standing by. One ABC fire extinguisher. One remote-reading thermometer for checking up on stuff that might be getting hot.
I’m pleased to report that the system is happily charging away right now. It’ll be a few hours before full charge and I won’t be able to test the run-off-battery aspect until the bank is charged to full, but so far so good, for sure.
