In the next day or two, I hope to put a few more sheathing boards on FRHT – I have a few such boards on hand (evidently, though I computed my needs for 2x6s exactly, I somehow underestimated the sheathing boards, so I’ll need to get more) and then I’ll tarp it for a couple of weeks. Now that it’s as done as it is, I can confidently throw a few Very Large Tarps over it and not worry about the structure standing up to the wind and rain. It’s stout enough now that it should be no problem for anything short of a Big Storm, none of which is expected.
Even though I’m close to being done-for-the-season, I need some time off to just relax a bit as well as attend to other household things too-long deferred.
The goal for “before winter” is now full coverage with sheathing, install the windows, fabricate a temporary door. When all that’s done, the big tarps go back on and the whole thing gets secured for the winter… though if I’m smart, I’ll take some photos and measurements of the interior before then, so I can do some planning over the winter if I am so moved. Really, though, some time off from the project will be good. I’ve been going at it almost continuously for a few months now and I definitely need a good solid break — and there’s lots of homestead stuff to catch up on, too.
